Operator semigroups and dynamical systems research group

  • András Bátkai
  • Ádám Besenyei
  • Bálint Farkas (external member)
  • Péter Simon

Research area: Analysis

The aim of the research group is to handle problems arising from different areas of mathematics by using operator semigroups. Problems in the fields of ordinary and partial differential equations, numerical approximations, functional analysis etc. are often described by dynamical systems. To investigate the long-time-behaviour of such a system, operator semigroups are especially useful tools. The most current research topics of the members are: operator splittings and spatial approximations for evolution equations, operator splittings and delay, infectious disease transmission models, information spread on dynamic networks, control of dynamical networks, fluid flow models.
